Rocky Harbour is the main service centre for this part of Gros Morne. You can find fuel, groceries and convenience items, a pharmacy, banking and postal services, a laundromat, restaurants and the Parks Canada visitor centre. For a long hiking or driving day, it still makes sense to fill the tank and pick up food and water before leaving town.

Before a hiking or driving day
Do the simple things in town first: fuel the vehicle, carry drinking water, pick up lunch or snacks, and check the latest trail and weather information. Some park days take you well away from Rocky Harbour, and the south side around Woody Point, the Tablelands and Trout River is not a quick out-and-back errand.
Start at the visitor centre if you are unsure
The Gros Morne Visitor Centre in Rocky Harbour is the best first stop for current Parks Canada information. In the 2026 main season it is open daily from May 15 through October 12, with reduced year-round hours outside that period. Getting around town and the park
